D2 A2 One small step for man

3...2..1...Blast off!

Piercing through Earth's atmosphere

Infinite Stars and Infinite Planets.

Targeting one rocky sphere,

Known as 'The Moon'.

Landing on this dry dead rock.

Gravity pushing me higher as I jump.

Mixed emotions, happy, excited, accomplished.

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

  1. Hey Zayden,

Your moon poem is really ice, I wish I had read it earlier but it's hard to scroll all the way down to the first couple of posts because I keep seeing you more recent ones first which look to interesting to pass up. Any-who, You've got a great story-telling voice here, do you enjoy writing stories?

I love the words you've used like 'Piercing the Earth's atmosphere' and the idea of infinite planets and stars but aiming for one rocky sphere. Nice job Zayden!

    See you in the comments.

    Daniel :)

    1. Hey Daniel,

Thanks for the nice things you said about my post.

My dream is to becoming a builder so I can build just a medium house but I have been thinking of making stories and poetry. At least my mum thinks that because she likes my writing.

And to be honest, I love writing stories because I always write in my free - time.

Looks like I have to get back to posting.

      See you Daniel,

      Zayden

  2. Hey Zayden,

You very welcome, it's all well deserved.

That's super cool to hear. I studied creative writing and poetry at uni but the main thing is just to be able to keep writing as much as you can to get better. Recently I was reading a book written by an 11 year old, Proper bought from Whitcoulls, published novel! You should definetly give it a go. The book is 'Swordbird' if you're interested.

  3. Hello Zayden,
What a fantastic poem! I really enjoyed reading your poem! Let me explain why I like this blog post! Firstly, you though of really cool lines like the 2nd line. I also like how you started off the poem with a rocket ship blasting off. My dream is to go to Andromeda and find another planet with life so if we destroy this planet we can go to the other one. Maybe next time you could add a bit more information about the back story to the activity. Overall, this is a phenomenal blog post! Keep up the astonishing work!
