New $10 bank note
I think that we should replace Kate Sheppard's picture on the $10 note with Lisa King's picture.
She is the founder of Eat My Lunch.
Denied a loan from the bank, told by her friends the idea would never work and faced with naysayers every step of the way.
This fueled Lisa to go out and actually prove to herself and everyone that this could work.
She is committed to her business model: to give a free lunch to a child in need for every packed lunch a customer purchases.
Ms King has grown from a home business to today boasting 45 staff throughout Auckland and Wellington.
In that time they've given more than 920,000 lunches to kids across 82 schools in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington.
For this I think she is deserving and an inspirational women.
Kia Ora Zayden,
ReplyDeleteLisa King is a great pick as someone to go on our $10 note. Did you know that she was nominated for New Zealander of the Year in 2019? Mike King won the award because of his contribution to mental health services in New Zealand. We get Eat My Lunch lunches at my school and it makes such a big difference for our students. Did you know that people can volunteer to help make lunches at Eat My Lunch?
Keep up the great work!
Blog ya later,
Dani
